Tim Navis and Kim Høltermand are joining film collective Scenic and composer Deru to bring us Outliers: a beautifully packaged box set of film and music. The team will create a series of short films at various locations throughout Iceland, inspired by moments of discovery and chance occurrence. Scenic will edit a series of short films, featuring an original score by Deru and a full-length soundtrack featuring contributions from select musicians and contemporary composers. Tim and Kim will create an archival photo book and release a limited run of exclusive prints.
This sounds amazing. I’m personally in love with Tim’s and Kim’s photos, so this should be an incredible collection of images.
They put together a Kickstarter to help fund the project. Help fund it and you’ll get some limited edition goodies.

As some of you already know, I’m a little obsessed with finding vintage design materials, especially graphics manuals like this one for the 1976 Montreal Olympics. So you can imagine how far my jaw dropped when I saw this 1976 NASA Graphics Standards Manual. Created by design firm Danne & Blackburn in 1975, this manual outlines the proper use of, in my opinion, one of the best brand identities of the last century. One lucky soul has managed to get some hi-res scans of the some of the pages. The hunt has officially begun.
UPDATE: Tim has kindly documented more pages from the manual, and posted them to his Flickr.

This is a great site by designer Jarr Geerligs that catalogues posters that he finds of the streets on Amsterdam.

Camilla Akrans has instantly become one of my favorite photographers. Her images are simple, interesting and the colors are dreamy. Beautiful.

Australian student Hamish Innes-Brown setup a camera at the Tullamarine Airport in Melbourne and snapped these wonderful photos of planes landing. By using a slow shutter speed, he was able to create these beautiful patters and colors. Another great example creating something special from an unexpected source.
You can purchase prints of the photos here.
