Experiments in Speed is a short film about bike frame builder Tom Donhou and his attempt at trying to go 100mph on a bike that he built. The film was produced by Spindle, and what I love most about it is the beautiful cinematography. It’s really well done.
Interaction of Color App
Yale University Press has released an iPad app version of Josef Albers’s influential book, Interaction of Color. Designed by Potion, the app features archival video of Josef Albers in the studio and classroom, videos of practicing artists, designers, and architects discussing how they use color, and 63 fully interactive plates.
Looks like it’s really well done. I’m looking forward to it.
Biltwell Gringo Helmet
This Gringo helmet by Biltwell makes me wish I still had a motorcycle. The minimal design doesn’t overdue it in anyway. It’s just a pure helmet design without all the fancy vents and shapes. It’s a classic design that will never get old, and you can get an awesome bubble shield for it. Reminds me of the awesome James Cann film, Rollerball.
New Work: Ruiz + Company
