This is a little late but better late then never right?
The brilliant Tony Brook (Spin) and Adrian Shaughnessy (ShaughnessyWorks) have started Unit Editions, a new publishing venture that produces high-quality, affordable books on graphic design and visual culture. I’ve been waiting for something like this for a long time and it’s refreshing to see that it’s being manned by two highly respects and talented people. Their attention to print quality and design is superb and it’s very much apparent in their first release, Studio Culture.
Studio Culture, designed by Spin, focuses on the inner workings of 28 leading graphic design studios and acts as a guide to creating, maintaining and growing a studio culture. It’s not only a informative guide, Studio Culture is also a work of art in my opinion. That’s what makes Unit Editions so unique.
I’m super excited for their next release. Actually, a subscription service would be awesome. Just auto-bill me and send me the book. No matter what it’s about, I know it will be gorgeous and informative.

The fantastic studio OK-RM updates their site with new work from this year. They’re responsible for the Barbican identity system, one of my all time favorites.
Pictured above is some print work for Beyond These Walls, a group exhibition at the South London Gallery.

Interesting poster by Martin Plonka that classifies typefaces by seven major groups: Slab Serif, Serif Old Style, Serif Transitional, Serif Modern, Sans Humanist, Sans (Neo)Grotesque and Sans Geometric.

Issue #4 of the excellent NEWWORK Magazine by Studio NEWWORK is now available. This issue features contributions by Albert Watson, Wolfgang Weingart, Bruno Monguzzi, Julian Abram Wainwright, Robert Longo, and Werner Jeker.
