Interesting article by Khoi Vinh on padding your grid elements and not laying them right on a grid line. I don’t necessarily agree with this concept but it’s still an interesting insight. The situation he uses is very specific and I think it can be avoided if thought about before the creation of the grid.

How Hey Antonio, how would you avoid this padding? I usually create a grid with more columns and use one of them to separate the content…lol
I use gutters between the columns, usually around 10 pixels in width, and that is more than enough for padding and at the same time you still are laying elements on a grid line.
