After the success of Manuals 1, Unit Editions has just announced Manuals 2, which features graphic standards and corporate identity manuals for IBM, Westinghouse, Canadian Rail, Bell, Knoll, PTT, Montreal Olympics, Dutch Police and more. These manuals were designed by some of the masters: Georges Huel, Paul Rand, Allan Fleming, Total Design, Massimo and Lella Vignelli, Alan Fletcher, Otl Aicher and more.
Manuals 2 will also feature my copy of the graphics manual for the 1976 Montréal Olympics. Pretty excited that a piece of my collection is included.
The book includes essays, interviews and a forward by Lance Wyman, designer of the 1968 Mexico Olympic games.

Studio Beige designed this beautiful identity for Rotterdam based Gimsel Supermarket.
This short film by Process Creative for furniture and bag designer Stephen Kenn is just perfect. It’s beautifully shot and the story is very emotional. It really highlights how an object can carry so much history and sentiment.
TM is a Geneva based studio comprised of David Mamie and Nicola Todeschini. This duo is pumping out some amazing work.
I really like this self-identity designed by South African designer Wanda Priem. What really grasps my attention is the schematic-like feel of the entire system, which is all based on prime numbers. Head here for more images and the concept behind the identity.
Made Thought has rebranded the Colorplan paper line by GF Smith with a nice swatchbook and website. Dig it.
