I don’t write much about apps, but I plan to do so more in the future.
Today, Facebook announced a beautiful app called Paper, that will be released February 3rd. From the video and images, it looks like a great experience. It seems really well designed, and I love the gesture based interactions. I’m looking forward to trying it out. The site is also really well done. Simple and to the point.
From what I’ve read, Mike Matas was responsible for the design, but not 100% sure.

30 years ago, the Mac was released and it changed everything. It definitely changed my life. I was attending high school when I used a Mac for the very first time, and it along with Photoshop 2.0, blew me away. I knew what I wanted to do with the rest of my life.
The Mac has come along way in 30 years, and I’m exited to see where it’s headed.
Apple put together this beautiful site chronicling the history of the Mac.
This short film by Process Creative for furniture and bag designer Stephen Kenn is just perfect. It’s beautifully shot and the story is very emotional. It really highlights how an object can carry so much history and sentiment.

Here is one of the few effective keys to the design problem — the ability of the designer to recognize as many of the constraints as possible — his willingness and enthusiasm for working within these constraints. Constraints of price, of size, of strength, of balance, of surface, of time and so forth.
