Interesting little project by 20 year old designer Kasper Ledet of a hand made type based on Helvetica. Kasper printed a pattern on sticker sheets and cut out the letters with a scalpel. Very nice.

Beautiful letterpress project by Transfer Studio. They produced a set of cards and photos compiled in a little box. The cards are a representation of different measurements and rules related to letterpress printing and to typography in general.

So you’ve just finished that 4 year design program at some fancy art school and now you need a job to build experience and to pay off that huge debt you’ve incurred. Well here’s your answer.
The Walker Art Center Design department is now accepting applications for their 2008/2009 graphic design fellowship program. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to get out into the field and build some experience. Definitely check this out if you’re a design virgin and need some real life design experience.
Fellows are employed full-time for one year and are assigned a wide range of graphic design projects from developing graphic identities for specific programs and exhibitions, including the design of all related collateral materials, to assisting the design director and other designers with long-term projects such as exhibition catalogues and promotional campaigns. Fellows are involved in all aspects of the design process, including client meetings and presentations through production and supervision of printing (a small sampling of projects executed by Walker Design Fellows between the years 1999 and 2008 are pictured above).
