Counter-print.co.uk is a new site aimed at the sale of out of print and hard to find Art & Design related material. I’ve been wanting something like this for a long time. The site already has a bunch of gems on there, like this Stedelijk Museum catalog designed by Wim Crouwel. This site’s not going to be kind on my wallet.

For all you lucky folks in the UK, there’s going to be a lecture tonight with Wim Crouwel. I’d love to go to this. Someone needs to get this guy to NYC! Anyway, here are the details:
The International Society of Typographic Designers is pleased to announce the return or their acclaimed lecture series. The first of which on the 3 June will be Wim Crouwel. The Dutch legend will be introduced by 8vo’s Hamish Muir, who will talk about the studio’s work that was commissioned by Crouwel when he was director of the Museum Boymans-van Beuningen (1989 — 1994).
Crouwel’s lecture, Designer and Client, will take place at the The Royal College of Physicians’ Wolfson Lecture Theatre, 11 St Andrews Place, Regent’s Park, London NW1 4LE (19.00 — 21.30).
Tickets are limited, likely to sell out quickly and are only available in advance from istd.org.uk/wim-crouwel. £16 (£12 for ISTD members, £10 for students)
Attendees will be invited to celebrate the ISTD’s 80th birthday with a complimentary drink in the Dorchester Library after the lecture.
Tickets also include entry to a raffle for the chance to win a very special prize which will be presented by Crouwel himself.

Wood Type Museum
May 22nd, 2009Robert Lee of Unicorn Graphics in Garden City, NY has amassed an incredible collection of wood types and engraved blocks, and is cataloging them in an online museum for everyone to view. The collection includes catalogs, wood types, ornaments, borders, engraved blocks, cuts and more. Simply amazing. The museum is described as:
This Web Museum is established for the purpose of educating the general public, and the next generation, on the beauties of wood types and engraved blocks. Our mission is to gather, save, preserve, and interpret wood types and information about them.
Well done Robert.

AisleOne now Available on Kindle
May 21st, 2009For all you Kindle users out there, the AisleOne Kindle version has been approved by Amazon and is now available for a monthly price of $.99, which includes a 14-day free trial. They don’t give you any control over the design and layout of the feed so I’m sure it’s going to look ugly. Hey, at least you’ll get to access the content right? Anyway, enjoy.
