I’ve been cycling for about 6 months now and one of the great joys of it are the beautiful frames graphics created by some of the top companies in the industry. The attention to typography, color and design turns these simple bikes into pieces of art. The most incredible part of this is that these designers have such a limited canvas to work on but they still manage to create designs that flow with the lines of the frame. Even their type choices must be limited since they mostly have to used fonts that are extended but at the same time are easy to read in a tight space. It’s unfortunate that there are some cyclists who don’t appreciate the work and either buy blank frames or even try to remove the graphics. Anyway, below are some examples of frames with beautiful designs.
I agree completely with this post. Two more brands I would add to this list: Scott and Argon 18. the Scott road frame are too good, really minimal and sharp – right down to business.
Most brands also have very descent printed catalogues. You should try and get your hands on a copy of the BMC book.
