Apple Responds

< RANT >In this letter addressing the iPhone price drop, Steve Jobs offers a $100 store credit towards the purchase of any product at an Apple Retail Store or the Apple Online Store. Personally I think Apple is being WAY too nice here. Taking care of their customers I guess but price drops are too be expected from Apple. They have ALWAYS done it so what’s the big surprise now? To me the extra $200 was worth enjoying it for an extra 2 months. If the extra $200 is a big deal for you then you shouldn’t be spending $600 on a phone. Apple didn’t force anyone to buy it. It’s that simple. I don’t know what’s more ridiculous, people complaining about the price drop or the law suits over the battery replacement program. Shut up already and enjoy this wonderful device. < / RANT >

  1. Bingo. The iPhone, despite it’s ground breaking feature-set, is still just a mobile device, in a market where prices have to be aggressive.

Just because it’s made by Apple, doesn’t mean it’s excluded from change.

  2. I’m with you on this one. It’s not like I can’t sympathize. Sucks that the price drops so much so soon, and you willingly bought it at the set price knowing that at some point in time it’d cost less and/or be better. Just because that day came sooner rather than later doesn’t mean anyone owes you something.
