text editor + transmit + css editor + terminal + books + more = whoah.

Panic has just released this app for Mac OS X called Coda that’s a text editor, css editor, Transmit and more in one! Bye bye BBEdit! Coda sounds very promising. I’m going to mess around with it for a bit and then write up a little review. In the meantime check it out.

Shiira 2.0 has been released today. Personally I think it’s still a beta but Shiira is definitely a worthy browser.

Harald Peter Ström has put together a nice little booklet about his typeface Januar and how it compares to other typefaces and examples on how it can be used. He also does some great design work.

Interesting article about the kerning in the new WIRED logo. I still think it’s ugly.

This is the first typeface I’ve ever created and I’ve been working on it for a few days now but I still have some work to do on it. It’s all based on the grid you see in the background and all the angles are 45 degrees. I still need to adjust some of the widths of the characters and I’m not loving the N, but overall I like the way it’s coming out. I’m just creating uppercase characters cause I eventually want to use this for big headlines and such. I also plan to do numbers and punctuation as well. Let me know what you guys think. Give me some feedback.

Graphic designer Richard Weston, who also runs a nice blog called Ace Jet 170, has just created an awesome Flickr set of his Pelican Book collection. These books have beautiful covers which were mostly designed by Romek Marber, who also created the Marber Grid. Here is my personal favorite.
