Schmid Today is a project about the designer and typographer Helmut Schmid that consists of an international exhibition, a book, a project documentary and a website. Excellent stuff.
«schmid today» is a research project about the designer and typographer Helmut Schmid by the University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf’s Design Department. The project was initiated and is supervised by Professors Victor Malsy and Philipp Teufel. The research team of 55 students around them collected, researched and cataloged designs by Helmut Schmid for the course of three years. The Archive documents Schmid’s complete works, including originals from the past 40 years. The results of the research are published now in an international exhibition, a book, a project documentary and in the digital realm for the first time.
