The other day I googled the phrase “swiss graphic design” to see what came up and I found this very interesting PDF hidden in this design consultancy firms site. The PDF consists of posters created by some of the most famous swiss designers. Definitely a gem.

The guys at Swiss Legacy have created a Swiss Legacy Flickr Group that already has a bunch of Swiss design goodness. Go check it out and join up!

Graphic designer Richard Weston, who also runs a nice blog called Ace Jet 170, has just created an awesome Flickr set of his Pelican Book collection. These books have beautiful covers which were mostly designed by Romek Marber, who also created the Marber Grid. Here is my personal favorite.
Creating a copy structure to work with your design is just as important as the design itself. Consistent leading and type alignment is crucial to the organization and the legibilty of the copy in a design. That’s where baselines come in. The guys over at Peepcode have create a great little tool called Baseline Rhythm Calculator that can generate a basic stylesheet with the proper calculations for consistent baselines.

This is old but still worth linking…
Image Now has a nice online gallery feature 48 posters by the legend, Josef Müller-Brockmann.
