Experimental Jetset will be part of a few exhibitions held in New York, Paris, Luxembourg, Maastricht, London and Berlin. Here is the full info from their site.
New York
We’re part of The Art of Revolution, an exhibition currently taking place at the Center Gallery at Fordham University, New York City. The show is curated by Gerry Beegan, who previously curated Beauty is in the Street. ‘The Art of Revolution’ runs from August 20 to October 5, 2007. Closing reception: Thursday, October 4, 18:00-20:00 hour. Center Gallery, 113 West 60th Street, NYC, NY.
Paris
We created two posters (both featuring anagrams) for an art project by the French artist Jérôme Saint-Loubert Bié. This project will take place in two different spaces in Paris: the posters can be seen at Atelier Cardenas Bellanger and at Galerie de Multiples. The show at Galerie de Multiples will open on September 8, while the show at Atelier Cardenas Bellanger will open on September 15. Check the website of Atelier Cardenas Bellanger for more information.
Luxembourg
Ultramoderne is the title of a show that will take place from September 20 to November 4, 2007, at the Espace Paul Wurth in Luxembourg. It promises to be an exciting exhibition, featuring many artists and designers (including us), reinterpreting the very concept of modernism. Curated by Tiphanie Blanc, Yann Chateigné and Alex Reding, and featuring a catalog designed by Jean-Marie Courant (Regular). Opening on Septembre 19, from 18:00 hour.
Maastricht
Together with photographer Johannes Schwartz and the architect Herman Verkerk, we are currently working on ‘Stair/Stare’, an installation at exhibition space Marres (Capucijnenstraat 98, Maastricht). The exhibition will run from September 23 to December 17, 2007. Opening on Saturday 22, from 17:00 hour. On the occasion of the opening, Marres is actually organizing a bus ride from Amsterdam to Maastricht and back. Contact floor@marres.org for more information.
London
Running from October 5 to October 31, 2007, at the Architectural Association School of Architecture, will be Forms of Inquiry, a group show curated by Zak Kyes. Participating designers (including us) will present an already existing work, and a print produced specifically for the exhibition. The catalog will be designed by Zak Kyes and Mark Owens.
Berlin
A promotional banner (or actually, a set of two banners) that we designed for 104 (Le Cent Quatre) will be shown in Berlin, during a festival organized by Radial System Five. More information about the date of the festival, and the precise location of the banner, will follow.
50 Years of Helvetica
Great exhibit featuring talented designers. There is a nice online gallery on the Candy site and you can purchase all the pieces from Blanka. My favorite is this one above by Build.
2007 sees the fiftieth anniversary of helvetica. Blanka and Candy have invited 50 leading designers and graphic artists to produce 50 images. Each artist has produced a 50cm x 50 cm print in an edition of 50, available for £50 each. Each print is produced using Epson archival giclee inkjet technology. The exhibition launches in london at the Design Museum July 19 – Sept 2 and was produced in association with Veer and with the assistance of Epson, GFSmith, Image Now, Generation Press and Build.
Each artist was allocated a random year [1957 – 2006] from Helvetica’s lifetime. From this they were asked to create an image based on an event of creative or cultural significance which occured during their allocated year. The artist were asked to consider the relevance of Helvetica when creating their final piece, there were no other rules applied other than if they used a typeface it must be Helvetica.
Experimental Jetset/104 Event
104 hosted an exhibit of the work in progress being done by Experimental Jetset for their brand identity. Xavier Encinas from Swiss Legacy was there and snapped some picture.
