New Museum Branding
January 28th, 2008I’m lovin’ the branding that Wolff Olins created for the New Museum in NYC using the typeface Neographik. I have to head down there and check this place out. Read more about it at Creative Review and Brand New.

Travel Ephemera
January 3rd, 2008While rummaging through FFFFound.com I found this great online gallery (the site design is hard on the eyes) of graphic design examples from the 1920s and 1930s. You can definitely see how this early work inspired designers like Brockmann and Crouwel.
On a shameless side note, if anyone has an extra FFFFound invite I would be more than happy to take it off your hands.

The Web Design Survey
April 24th, 2007A List Apart is running a survey that looks to answer some questions about use Web Designers and Developers:
Designers, developers, project managers. Writers and editors. Information architects and usability specialists. People who make websites have been at it for more than a dozen years, yet almost nothing is known, statistically, about our profession. Who are we? Where do we live? What are our titles, our skills, our educational backgrounds? Where and with whom do we work? What do we earn? What do we value?
Participate and you can win one free ticket to An Event Apart event held in the continental U.S.; an Apple 30GB video iPod, an Event Apart jump drive, or a funky A List Apart T-shirt.

Olay
March 28th, 2007Clever advertising by Saatchi & Saatchi, Dubai, UAE for Olay Wrinkle Smoothing Cream. Would have been perfect if it were COMMAND — Z instead of CTL — Z.

Dairy Queen
March 28th, 2007What the hell is DQ thinking with this new logo? Just awful. There was nothing wrong with the old one but if you are going to “freshen” it up at least do something good. This new one seems like a step back. Something you would see in the 80’s. DQ, you suck at branding!
