I am curious about the whole "crowdsourcing" concept, though. Isn't it basically spec-work? It sounds to me, and please correct me if I'm wrong, that Jeff Howe just came up with a catchy buzzword for an old concept. I know you're a professional in the industry; in your expert opinion, do you think it dilutes the importance of a skilled designer or is it more a case of "the best floats to the top"?
