Bastardised
October 31st, 2008Bastardised celebrates the global identity project born in 2007 out of Bunch’s need to re-brand. They approached designers and image-makers they admired and asked them to produce a “visual reaction” to their logo, sign it and return it. The resulting ‘Bunchisms’ were incorporated into their stationery with care taken to choose relevant themes for the applications.
This initiative attracted international artists, designers and illustrators which included Malcolm Garrett, Jonathan Ellery, Paul Davis, Marian Bantjes, Stefan Sagmeister, James Goggin, Carlos Segura, Build, Paul Insect, David Quay, Vince Frost, Si Scott and Julian Morey.
289 ‘Bunchisms’ were specially selected from 750 contributions and my submission was one of the designs selected for the book.
The limited edition 208 page hardback includes a foreword by cultural writer and author Liz Farrelly.
You can purchase a copy on November 1st from the Bunch store or Magma Books.

The 19th International Poster and Graphic Festival of Chaumont is paying tribute to one of my favorite inspirations of all time, Josef Müller-Brockmann. To accompany the festival this 288 page catalogue was designed by Wijntje Van Rooijen & Pierre Péronnet and features a section on the legendary Brockmann.
You can grab a copy over at YWFT and also check out this small Flickr gallery of the festival.

Calendreco
October 27th, 2008Calendreco is an eco friendly perpetual wall calendar designed by Dessi Ivanova. The calendar is composed of one oversized board with the month’s numbers (1 — 31) and three additional headers with different weekday combinations. Depending on the month, the corresponding header is placed in front of the board to indicate the date. With one simple adjustment every month, the calendar can be used year after year.
Calendreco is printed on a premium brilliant white, double — thick, alkaline pH cover paper, buffered for longevity. It is made with responsibly sourced pulps, 100% renewable electrical energy, and clean water. Manufactured carbon neutral and chlorine free, this paper is one of the most chemical — free papers available today. The inks are non-toxic and vegetable-based. Finally, the calendar is 100% recyclable.
