Year Of The Sheep
February 22nd, 2008A few weeks ago I finished refreshing my personal site, Year of the Sheep. I’m getting a little tired with Flash, especially when it comes to updating, so this time around I used Indexhibit. Indexhibit is a web application used to build and maintain an archetypal, invisible website format that combines text, image, movie and sound. I personally love it. It’s easy as hell to use and update and the CSS is very flexible. Oh and it’s free. Definitely check it out.
And for those wondering, I picked the name cause I was born in 1979, the year of the sheep in the Chinese zodiac.

Limited Edition: Grids Are Good For the Soul Poster
February 20th, 2008A few months ago I wrote a short article on grids which I titled “Grids Are Good For the Soul”. I fell in love with the title and ended up designing this poster around it.
Grids Are Good For The Soul is screen printed by hand by Post Expose, which contains a quote by the legendary Josef Müller-Brockmann, is printed in sky blue on 80lb cream colored paper. This goes without saying, but it was also designed on a grid system.
- $25
– Edition of 20.
– 23×33 inches.
– Set in Helvetica.
– Numbered and signed
SOLD OUT!
Head over to the AisleOne store and get yourself a copy of this limited edition print before they’re all gone. You can check out more photos on my Flickr page as well as photos of the posters being printed.

Swiss International Air Lines
February 17th, 2008This has to be one of my favorite corporate logos. I love the balance between the two squares and the minimal type style. There is a Swiss Air Lines office here in New York that has this logo up nice and big, but on big red cubes. Looks great. I have to get some photos of it.

ITC Lubalin Graph
February 12th, 2008I’m not much of a serif guy but I do love ITC Lubalin Graph. It’s basically a serif version of Avant Garde designed in 1974 by Herb Lubalin. The forms are identical in both typefaces, but Lubalin Graph contains slab serifs giving it the beauty of Avant Garde but with a more traditional feel. I know there’s an alternates version that contains special slanted letters and ligatures but I can’t find it anywhere. The entire family can be had for around $200 which includes Extra Light, Book, Medium, Demi and Bold. I might have to invest in this. There is also a condensed version but I doesn’t look that great.
If anyone has anymore info about this face or the alternates version, please shoot me an email. Thanks.
