Interesting article about the kerning in the new WIRED logo. I still think it’s ugly.

This is the first typeface I’ve ever created and I’ve been working on it for a few days now but I still have some work to do on it. It’s all based on the grid you see in the background and all the angles are 45 degrees. I still need to adjust some of the widths of the characters and I’m not loving the N, but overall I like the way it’s coming out. I’m just creating uppercase characters cause I eventually want to use this for big headlines and such. I also plan to do numbers and punctuation as well. Let me know what you guys think. Give me some feedback.

Nation Forest has hosted a Dutch Poster show. In conjunction with Cal Arts Graduate design department, Nation Forest exhibited a collection of seven Dutch designers’ work from the early 90’s till today.

Graphic designer Richard Weston, who also runs a nice blog called Ace Jet 170, has just created an awesome Flickr set of his Pelican Book collection. These books have beautiful covers which were mostly designed by Romek Marber, who also created the Marber Grid. Here is my personal favorite.

Portfolio of Matt Michaluk. Good stuff.
